Your first Anchorage rental: a simple checklist

A first rental is easier when each stage has a clear purpose. Before travelling, check eligibility. At pickup, understand the vehicle. Before return, review the agreed arrangements.

Before you book

Choose dates that match your actual arrival and departure plans. Read the insurance and payment-card requirements, and confirm that every intended driver meets the eligibility rules. Tell the team about one-way plans or any route that may need special approval.

Before you fly

Save the collection address and the contact number. If you requested the airport shuttle option, confirm how to use it. Share a delayed arrival as soon as possible rather than assuming the reservation time will automatically change.

At the vehicle

Inspect and photograph the condition, ask where controls are located and review the fuel requirement. Confirm the return time and location, including what to do if you expect to be late. Ask questions while the team can explain the answer in person.

During the trip

Stay within permitted routes and do not let an unapproved driver take over. Keep an eye on warning indicators and contact the team promptly about damage or a mechanical concern. Request extensions before the agreed return time.

At return

Allow time to refuel if required, remove belongings and follow the handover instructions. Keep any return documentation with your travel records. An organised final morning is worth planning just as carefully as the first drive.
