Is a private transfer the same as a rental car?
No. A rental car is driven by an authorised renter. A private transfer is a chauffeured journey reserved for your group. Rental deposits, driver eligibility and road-use rules should not be treated as the terms of a transfer booking.
When is my transfer confirmed?
Submitting the transfer form creates a request and a reservation reference. The journey is confirmed only when the operator approves it and the reservation status changes to confirmed. Keep your reference and check the current status on your reservation page.
Can I be collected at the airport?
For Anchorage rentals, an on-demand airport shuttle option can take you to the off-airport rental counter; charges may apply. Fairbanks does not offer the same rental shuttle arrangement. For a chauffeured airport journey, request a private transfer and confirm the meeting instructions separately.
What do I need to rent a vehicle?
Renters must be at least 21 and present a valid driving licence, acceptable insurance and a physical Visa, Mastercard or Discover credit card. Renters under 25 face additional requirements and a fee. International renters also need a valid passport. American Express is not accepted for rental payment.
How does rental insurance work?
Acceptable full-coverage insurance must include liability, collision and comprehensive cover. The company accepts qualifying policies from major US carriers. International visitors face the same insurance requirements and may need an eligible protection product. Ask the team to check your arrangements before pickup.
Is there a rental deposit?
Car rentals require a 20% reservation deposit. It is non-refundable as a cash refund on cancellation; qualifying advance changes and future travel credit are governed by the rental terms. This rental deposit is not an online payment collected by the private-transfer request form.
Can I drive on gravel roads or visit Canada?
Do not assume that a vehicle class permits either. Limited gravel-road use requires approval for an eligible vehicle and the applicable surcharge. The Dalton Highway is not permitted. Cross-border travel must be disclosed and authorised before collection so any documentation and additional requirements can be arranged.
Are one-way or after-hours arrangements possible?
Ask before booking. One-way rentals and after-hours pickup or return depend on the location and available arrangements. Any exception to ordinary opening hours needs advance confirmation.
What should I tell you about children and luggage?
Give the total number of travellers, including children, and describe suitcases, strollers and larger equipment. Request suitable child restraints in advance. Capacity figures should be considered together: having enough seats does not always mean every bag will fit.
What if my plans change?
Contact the team with your reservation reference as soon as you know. Changes can affect timing, availability and price. Review the conditions for the service you booked before cancelling or adjusting your itinerary.
